Deutschlandticket

The Deutschlandticket costs € 49 per month and allows you to use all local and regional trains throughout Germany. The ticket is a subscription and must be cancelled if you no longer wish to use it. It should be purchased early in advance, as it can take a few days to be issued. It's the perfect solution if you plan to travel in Germany on a smaller budget and have time to use the slower regional trains. You can find more information here.

   
   

Studiticket

As part of the student services fee, students in Karlsruhe can use public transportation within the entire KVV area for free on weekdays from 6 pm to 6 am, as well as on weekends and holidays throughout the whole day. The student ID, in conjunction with a certificate from DHBW Karlsruhe and KVV, serves as a ticket which students can obtain upon request when receiving the student ID. Additionally, an alternative option is available to purchase a Studikarte for about € 215,50 per semester, allowing to travel within the entire KVV network 24/7.

You can buy the Studikarte at the KVV Service Center at the main station. You will need to present your certificate of enrollment for the current semester.

NextBike

NextBike is an offer of KVV. As a student of DHBW Karlsruhe, you pay € 24 per year. Then, you can rent a bike and the first 30 minutes of each rental are included. After that, you will be charged according to the basic tariff.
