Orientation Weeks

The Orientation Weeks are scheduled for March and September (duration of three weeks). The comprehensive sessions are designed to facilitate a smooth start for incoming students, providing essential information and support.

Business Students
Within the Orientation Weeks, a German intensive course (daily sessions from Monday to Friday) is offered to teach fundamental phrases. Alongside the German intensive course, essential events such as an introduction to DHBW's IT system, a presentation on key aspects of German culture and a general information meeting are scheduled. However, the agenda is not limited to mandatory sessions. Participants can attend additional lectures focusing on soft skills to earn credit points.
During afternoons, evenings and weekends, the International Office and buddies organize various events and trips, which provide excellent opportunities to connect with fellow incoming students and to build relationships with the buddies.

Computer Science Students
A separate reduced programme is offered for computer science students. The Orientation Days will take place in March and September parallel to the computer science lectures. The excursions to the surrounding area and events in Karlsruhe usually take place in the evenings or at the weekends, so all exchange students can participate in them together.
